LiveHealth® Online: Video Chat with a Doctor

Question: What do you get when quality health care is combined with two-way video chat?

Answer: Super-convenient access to a doctor right from your home computer or personal mobile device.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield's LiveHealth Online is a video chat service that puts you in touch with a doctor for non-emergency care when you can't see your regular doctor. You can even see a licensed therapist using LiveHealth Online Psychology.

Simple Steps to Online Care

  1. Once you log on, you choose to speak with a doctor from a list of available doctors. Information about each is provided, along with a photo.
  2. Answer a few questions about your health condition—just like an in-person visit.
  3. You'll have a live conversation with a doctor.
  4. If you need a prescription, your online doctor can prescribe one (available in states where online prescribing is allowed).
  5. You'll be charged your regular office copay, which you can pay with a credit card.
  6. At the end of the visit, you'll be asked to rate your experience.

While contacting your regular doctor is usually your best choice for care, LiveHealth Online is great for those times when you can't get in touch with your doctor—such as when you're on vacation or during the weekend. Or you can use it to learn more about a wellness topic or get answers about general health questions.
